RUNT (ResNet USB Network Tester) is Slackware Linux designed to run off of a 128 MB USB pen drive. It consists of a boot floppy image and a zip file, similar to zipslack. It is intended to be a fairly complete Linux installation for use as a testing tool capable of booting on any x86 computer with a USB port and a bootable floppy drive.

Ewrt is a Linux distribution for the Linksys WRT54G that was
forked from the Linksys and Sveasoft code bases. It is
designed to meet the needs of open wireless network
operators by providing a captive portal based on NoCatSplash
and large-scale management functionality on a stable and
low-cost platform.

OpenIPMI is an effort to create a full-function
IPMI system to allow full access to all IPMI
information on a server and to abstract it to a
level that will make it easy to use.

ATAidle is a utility to set the power management
features of ATA hard drives in FreeBSD and Linux,
including the standby timeout, power (APM), and
acoustic (AAM) level settings. It can also show details
about the installed devices.

Linux device driver for CueCat barcode readers that supports multiple PS/2 CueCats on either the keyboard port, mouse port (without disabling the mouse) or USB port through a PS/2 -> USB adapter, or native USB CueCats. A standalone application that doesn't require the driver and also reads barcodes from a CueCat connected to a serial port through a homemade PS/2 -> serial converter is included as well. The driver separates CueCat barcode scancodes from normal keyboard or mouse scancodes, decode the barcodes, performs error-checking on them and send them in clear text through a normal character device file. NOTE : the company that created the CueCat has disappeared. CueCat readers are no longer produced or distributed.

JTAG Tools is a software package which enables working with JTAG-aware (IEEE 1149.1) hardware devices and boards through a JTAG adapter. This package has an open and modular architecture with the ability to write miscellaneous extensions like board testers, flash memory programmers, and so on.

Inquisitor is a hardware testing and certification
system, suitable for both enterprise and home use.
It is customizable, modular, and available in both
a serverless live CD/DVD format and as a
server-controlled network boot production system.

cdck is a simple program for verifying CD/DVD
quality. Even if all files on the disc are
readable, some sectors having bad timing and could
become unreadable in the future. The tool reads a
disc sector by sector, recording all reading
timings, and then tells you its verdict. It can
optionally write a timing table into a text file
usable by gnuplot, from which graphs can be drawn.

libieee1284 is intended to be used by applications that need to communicate with (or at least identify) devices that are attached via a parallel port.

The Tekram DC395/DC315 (TRM-S1040) SCSI driver is
a package for PCI-SCIS cards from Tekram such as
Tekram DC395, which are based on the TRM-S1040
chip. This driver was written by some Tekram folks
and is now maintained by Kurt Garloff(Suse).

Spindown is a daemon to spin down idle disks and
thus save energy and give the disks a longer
lifetime. It also works with USB disks and
hot-swappable disks because it uses the device ID
to identify the disk instead of the device name
(such as hda or sdb). This means that it doesn't
matter if the disk is swapped while the daemon is
running.

CDDE is a program that detects when a CDROM drive
has a disc inserted. When it finds a disc inserted
in the drive it will attempt to determine the type
of disc, and execute a specified command. This
means a DVD can be inserted and your favorite DVD
software will start, or a data CD can be
automatically mounted.
