GNU Radius is a RADIUS server and an accompanying set of monitoring utilities. It features MySQL and PostgreSQL interfaces for authentication and/or logging (the ODBC interface allows you to use almost any existing DBMS for that purpose), the ability to rewrite RADIUS requests from various NASs to normalize them to a more understandable format, and the ability to completely customize the behavior of RADIUS authentication and accounting based on NAS and user attributes.

checking, and support of improved dictionary syntax for
vendor-specific attributes. The SQL drivers are loaded
dynamically. The radtest utility offers a simple yet powerful
scripting language useful for writing RADIUS client
applications. A new library, libgnuradius, provides an API for
writing complex RADIUS-oriented applications. Several client
utilities have been added, among them a PHP interface

This release adds support for experimental Status-Server requests,

Rewrite language, special "log message hooks" which allow a user to add
to the log messages any information from the incoming request he deems
necessary, and a new tracing option which facilitates debugging complex
configurations. Client machines may now be specified in configuration
files using familiar CIDR notation.
