Popper is a small, neat solution to messaging between Linux and Windows-based machines. It sits quietly in the system tray and pops up a message should one be received from a computer on the network. All 32-bit Windows variants come with some sort of messaging program compatible with these kind of messages, and there are several available for Linux. Samba provides the neccessary magic of sending and receiving.

Diese Version ändert sich die empfangene Nachricht Mechanismus zu nutzen Dateiänderung mal statt der Signale, so dass die ausführbare Datei muss nicht mehr suid werden. Es ermöglicht jetzt für Systeme, die nicht über ein / etc / HOSTNAME oder einer, der zweifelhaften Inhalt hat, und die Popper-send.sh Skript wurde eingeführt, so dass es jetzt zu empfangen.

This release changes the received message mechanism to use file modification times instead of signals so that the executable no longer needs to be suid. It now allows for systems that don't have an /etc/HOSTNAME or one that has dubious contents, and the popper-send.sh script has been introduced so it will now receive messages.
