PHPortal is a PHP application development environment similar to
Zope. It is a pipeline or tunnel application that can help you quickly
create dynamic Web applications such as portal and intranet sites. It
comes with membership, search, news, and more. Its easy-to-use tools
allow teams to productively and safely work together. It provides
access to databases and other legacy data. Its support for Web
standards such as SMTP, POP, FTP, and XML-RPC allows you flexibility
and interoperability. It consists of a number of components which work
together to provide a complete, yet flexible, application server
package. It includes an XML-RPC server, an object-oriented
database schema, a search engine, a database virtual file mapping
system, a Web page templating system, a Web-based development and
management tool, and comprehensive extension support.

This is the first Members Application release. It has default or static/dynamic templates that can be parsed as document objects or not. share_db and pass_phrase have been added to per site configurations. share_db is used in the initial (site install) to create the shared table. 'xpc_apps' pass_phrase is used in replacement of the secret.php file for encryption and decryption. The access table now uses acquire to allow or disallow hierarchical security inheritance. Perms now are three columns, id, aid, and name aid = app ID, which is taken from the shared_db xpc_apps.

This version includes tplmap which allows one to map templates and SQL queries, makeform, which allows creation of an SQL form with a template and a SQL table formhandler. The site configurations have added errorReporting integer (PHP error number), log boolean (on|off), and cache boolean (on|off). A new method was added to the log core library to allow for a simple XML file to store total pageviews per PHPortal domain and total for all domains.
